Why should we give?

Giving is an outward expression of the inward commitment we have made to put God first in every area of our lives. When we give, we are identifying with the heart of God, in that we are demonstrating His generous character.
 
“Just as you excel in everything…in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness; see that you also excel in this grace of giving.”
2 Corinthians 8:7 NIV
 

Types of Giving

Tithes

Tithing is giving God the first ten percent of our income (Leviticus 27:30). His design for the tithe is that it be given to our local church (Malachi 3:10). 

Offerings

There are times when God will move on our heart to give above and beyond our tithe. This is called an offering. Offerings can be given to specific direction (ie: missions, projects, etc.). 

Seed Faith Giving

Seed faith giving is when you are believing God for something and He leads to sow a seed of faith for it. Most of the time when He leads you to do this He will tell you the amount and where to sow it.

Giving of Alms

This is when you desire to help someone in need while expecting nothing in return. The Bible says those who give to the poor, lend to the Lord and He will repay them (Proverbs 19:17).
